Focus on a meditative mind from evening of Dashmi a day prior. To attain all desires. Sleep on floor in this fast & perform Katha as shared by Pulsthaya Rishi to Narad Muni.
Gurumaa narrates, In treta Yug, In Mahishmati Nagar Kritvirya was ruling he had 100 Rani’s but not even one child. He was eagerly waiting for his own heir for the province. He had already performed all remedies advised by acharyas. Finally, he decided to take sometime off for Tapasya & deep meditation in Himalayas. His spouses urged to come along. Both the king & main Ranis went for Tapasya for few years & went to Anusaya Ma for guidance as these were long meditations for 9 years with no positive results.

Utapatti Ekadashi 2017

Arjuna asks the Lord~ Shree Krishna– “O’ Lord! Why is Ekadashi so special that it exceeds all other prious deeds?”
In reply, Sri Krishna narrates the story of the Birth of Ekadashi tithi and its greatness. Once there lived a demon called Mura, who won over the gods and conquered the heavens. He was causing trouble to all the noble. Indra goes to Lord Shiva and asks for help. Lord Shiva directs him to approach Lord Narayana.
Accordingly, he approached Lord Narayana and pleaded for protection. Lord Narayana made a vow to kill the demon Mura. He went to the dwelling of the Demon Mura to kill him. There was a fierce fight between the Gods and the Demons. The Gods were unable to stand before the might demons and ran away in all directions. Lord Narayana sent fierce arrows on the demons and they all god killed instantly.
Later a one-one fight between Lord Narayana and the demon took place. All the arrows and weapons the Lord used on the Demon did not have any effect on the mighty demon. When the Lord thus could not win over the Demon through weapons, he started to fight with him bare handed.
The fight continued for 1000 years according to Deva Mana. Though the Lord is all-powerfull, he playfully fought with the demon. It’s all Leela of the All-Mighty. As if he became tired with the long fight, the Lord entered a cave named Haimavati in Badarikashrama to take some rest. The Demon followed the Lord and saw Him sleeping. He thought of vanquishing the Lord who is the destroyer of the asuras.
While the Demon was about to attack the Lord, a female form arose from the the Lord’s body and stood firm to fight with the Demon. In few moments the Lady effortlessly killed the might demon by beheading him.
Lord Narayana woke up and saw the demon killed and a female with folded hands in front of him. The Lord asked – “Who killed this mighty demon?”. The female replied – “It is me, who arosed from your body, that killed the demon. I am your Shakti”. The Lord pleased by this reply, granted a boon to the female. The female asked thus – “O Lord, one who fasts on this (my) day, should be cleansed from all sins and should reach your abode without fail. Please grant me this boon on Lord”.
On hearing this the Lord replied – “As you are born on Ekadashi, you will hence forth be called as Ekadashi. You will be the destroyer of all sins. One who worships you and me would surely reach my abode”. Saying thus, the Lord disappeared.

One who thus knows the Utpatti of Ekadashi Tithi would cleanse oneself from all sins. Join with Gurumaa on Utpatti Ekadashi for blissful Sunderland. Dhanteras~Blessings by Mahalaxmi

Dhanteras Katha - story of Goddess Lakshmi and the Farmer
Once, Goddess Lakshmi insisted Lord Vishnu to accompany Him during one of His visits to the earth. Lord Vishnu agreed but on the condition that She would not fall for earthly temptations and would not look in the south direction. Goddess Lakshmi agreed to this condition of Lord Vishnu.

However during their visit to the earth, due to Her Chanchal (चञ्चल) nature Goddess Lakshmi got tempted to look in the south direction. When Goddess Lakshmi was not able to resist her urge to look in the south direction, She broke her pledge and started moving towards south. As soon as Goddess Lakshmi started moving in southern direction, She was mesmerized with the beauty of yellow mustard flowers and sugarcane fields on the earth. Finally, the Goddess Lakshmi fell for the earthly temptations and decorated herself with the mustard flowers and started enjoying sugarcane juice.

When Lord Vishnu saw that Goddess Lakshmi has broken her pledge, He got annoyed and asked Her to spend the next twelve years on the earth as a penance, serving at the field of the poor farmer who has cultivated mustard and sugarcane in the field.

With the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi, the poor farmer became prosperous and wealthy overnight. Gradually, twelve years passed and the time for Goddess Lakshmi to return back to Vaikuntha had come. When Lord Vishnu came to the earth in disguise of an ordinary man to take Goddess Lakshmi back, the farmer refused to relieve Goddess Lakshmi from his services.

When all attempts to by Lord Vishnu failed and the farmer didn't agree to relieve Goddess Lakshmi from his services, Goddess Lakshmi revealed her true identity to the farmer and told him that She could not stay any longer on the earth and need to go back to Vaikuntha. However, Goddess Lakshmi promised the farmer that She would visit him every year during the night of Krishna Trayodashi before Diwali.

As the legend goes, the farmer started cleaning his home every year to welcome Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Krishna Trayodashi before Diwali. He also started lighting an earthen lamp full of Ghee throughout the night to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. These rituals to appease Goddess Lakshmi made the farmer rich and prosperous year after year.

People who came to know about this incident also started worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on the night of Krishna Trayodashi before Diwali. This is how devotees started worshipping Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Kubera on the day of Dhanteras which is also known as Dhantrayodashi.

5th Swaroop of Ma Durga~ Skandmata ~Day5

SkandMata

5th Swaroop of Ma bhagwati is known as Skandmata. She is also known to derive this name by Skand kumar Kartikey. Skand kumar Kartikey became the leader in fights amongst devils & devtas & headed the army. In Shastras skand kumar is also known as Kumar or Shaktidhar due to his immense bravery & leadership skills.
He the son of Lord Shiva & MaParwati. His vehicle is peacock. Hence also known as Mayur in purans. Due to skand his mother Ma Parwati  was called as Skandimata. Skandmata is offered prayers on 5th day of navratras.
Guruma shares the legend of Skanda which is found in the Skanda Purana. Shiva and Parvati's energy combines into their own forms of nature when meditating. Indra came to know all this and assigns Lord Agni (Fire) to kidnap the ball of energy and keep it for safety from Demon Tarakasur. Agni snuck in the cave and took the energy by deceit and lies in his hands, after meditation, Parvati realizes that Lord Agni took the divine energy and chased after him. Lord Agni vanished with the divine energy and ran to Goddess Ganga. Meanwhile, Parvati came out of the cave and asked the Gods why Lord Agni stole the divine energy. The Gods answered her that they had to keep it safe from Demon Tarakasur. Parvati gets angry and attains the form of Goddess Durga, curses the Gods that their wives will never be able to enjoy the happiness with their children and with that, curses Lord Agni that he will be an all-burner, unable to differentiate the differences between right and wrong and his food will have impurities, he will always be surrounded by black smoke and also curses that in anyone touches him in one of the three worlds, they will get reduced to ashes. Meanwhile, Shiva came out of the cave placated her by telling her to calm down. Later, Shiva's son Kartikeya or Murugan or Skand had taken birth from the six Krittikas (Mothers) and not Parvati. Still, the Goddess had accepted him as her own child, setting an example of a great mother before the world. She took back Kartikeya, from Kritika Lok (Krittika world) to Kailash, while she was in her Durga form, riding this Lion. As he grew, he had learned about the boon the boon of Tarakasur given by Lord Brahma, as he can be killed by Kartikeya, Gods gave him special powers and weapons, to bless Kartikeya, Shiva and Parvati has encouraged him to kill Tarakasur in the battlefield. Before going, Parvati transformed herself as Goddess Durga again for blessing Kartikeya. With Parvati's (Goddess Durga) blessings, he managed to kill Tarakasur's army and Tarakasur. He was made by the Gods as their commander-in-chief.
On this day jatakas should meditate on Vishudi chakra or throat chakra. When Skandmata is imagined Skand or mayur is seated in Maharani’s lap with her. “Skandrupaini Devi” as shes popularly called in shastras has 4 arms carrying Skand in one of the arm while lotus for knowledge & good intellecult, in other she also forms a varmudra to bless us all, another Lotus to empower us when we feel low on energies & might get negative with time. Hence as per this visualisation of Maharani she is also popularly & lovingly called “Padamasana Devi” as she sits in Padamasana lotus meditation.
She like all devi swaroops rides the Leo depicting strength & valour, pride.
In navratras 5th day is very important. Till this time sadhaks in the 9 day mediatations are somewhat low on energies & might turn negative in vedic kriyas. Sadhak might be worried about worldly problems, issues in his life & is disturbed in this meditation for 9 days . Hence its all the more important to carry out fasts, meditations, upasana in full form. Devi kavacham & saptshati path should be read on this day to regain from any disturbances if any.  Sadhaks should sit for 15 to 20 mins in Padamasana to attain a higher level in meditation without rosary in skandmata dhyan & varmudra.
Ma Skandmata blesses all with heart felt desires. Manvanchit phal is blessed to all jataks once prayers are offered on this day. Offer a nariyal to Maharani this day. On a bettle leaf keep 9 kamal gattas & light a ghee Deepak to mediatate & get amazing results. She resides in Surya Mandal / solar region hence carries amazing light & aura. When sadhakas meditate on Skandmata swaroop they may see a bright red & yellow light emerging from a chakra.
This Throat chakra & heart chakra mediatation on 5th day is extremely beneficial for all problems & life issues to get sorted.
Pranam!
Ma Katyayani 6th day follows

Pitra Paksha 15days of Charity

Shrad or Pitrapaksha is the 15day period of paying homage by offering made to our ancestors especially through food offerings . Pitra Paksha or its different names given such as Pitri Pokkho, Sola Shraddha ("sixteen shraddhas"), Kanagat, Jitiya, Mahalaya Paksha and Apara paksha Initiates this year from Bhadrapradh Fullmoon to Mahaalya Amavasya on 30th Sept 2016 .
Main important rules of Kanagat are:-
Tarpan,Bhramin Bhoj, Gauseva, Pinddaan, PitraDaan, Havan,GangaSnan.
Beautiful citation of Pitrapaksha Daan is in
Garuda Puran it says performance of Shraddha by a son during Pitru Paksha is regarded as compulsory by Hindus, to ensure that the soul of the ancestor goes to heaven is clarified of all doshas. In this context, the scripture Garuda Purana also says, "there is no salvation for a man without a son".The scriptures preach that a householder should propitiate ancestors (Pitris), along with the gods (devas), ghosts (bhutas) and guests. The scripture Markandeya Purana says that if the ancestors are content with the shraddhas, they will bestow health, wealth, knowledge and longevity, and ultimately heaven and salvation (moksha) upon the performer.
Guruma narrates an interesting legend of Pitrapaksha & its historic evidence from Mahabharata as Lord Krishna Narrates.
When Karna, the brave warrior whose acts of giving are legendary even today, died in the epic Mahabharata war, his soul transcended to heaven, where he was offered gold and jewels as food. However, Karna needed real food to eat and asked Indra, the lord of heaven, the reason for serving gold as food. Indra told Karna that he had donated gold all his life, but had never donated food to his ancestors in Shraddha. Karna said that since he was unaware of his ancestors, he never donated anything in their memory. To make amends, Karna was permitted to return to earth for a 15–day period, so that he could perform Shraddha and donate food and water in their memory. Prabhu Says since then This period is now known as Pitru Paksha.

Ganesh Chathurthi ~Chandra Darshan is Prohibited ...read on

Chandra Darshan is prohibited on Ganesh Chaturthi

It is extremely harmful to look at the Moon on Ganesh-Chaturthi. Therefore be very careful not to look at the moon on that night. If one happens to look at the Moon on the night of Ganesh-Chaturthi, then no matter how innocent one is, one will definitely be defamed.

Even Lord Krishna was accused of having stolen the ‘Syamantak Mani’ because of looking at the Moon on this night. However, if you look at the Moon on the 3rd and 5th nights of that lunar month, the harmful effects caused by seeing the Moon on the 4th lunar night is countered. In any case, if by mistake you do happen to look at the Moon on this night, read or listen to the episode narrating the theft of the Syamantak Mani as described in the 56th and 57th chapters of the tenth Skanda of the Srimad Bhagawata.

According to another katha Guruma elaborates
On Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh Chaturthi Chandra Darshan is prohibited.  If any one sees Chandrama today a blame or kalank will  have to be mounted on him. The blame will be in the form of misappropriation of fund, or sex related. So Avoid observing moon today strictly…
It is said that Ganesh was ready to go some where, but on seeing him his attire and body structure Chandra Dev thought he himself is so beautiful and He smiled on Sri Ganesha & passed comment. So Ganesha got angry and said Any one who observe you on Chauth will be blamed. So Chandra Dev thought no one will have a look at him. So he excused and praised Sri Ganesha repeatedly…
Sri Ganesha was pleased  but said because you have passed innuendo you have to face the consequences. So not all the Chauth ka Chand but only Bhadrapad Shukla Paksh Chauth Chandra Darshan is malefic

Prasad To Ganapathi- Modak

Why Modak Prasadam is offered to Gajanan??

Modak, sweet laddoos, is one of the most important offerings made to Lord Ganesha. It is said that any offering to Ganesh is incomplete without the Modaks. There is an interesting story in the Padma Purana regarding why Ganesha loves Modak.

Guruma narrates Once the Devas (demi gods) came to visit Shiva and Goddess Parvati and presented them a divine Modak. It was a very special Modak and the person who ate the modak will become knowledgeable in all scriptures, science, art and writing.

Goddess Parvati wanted to present it to her sons – Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartik. But the brothers were not ready to share it. So a confused Goddess Parvati said that who among you proves the true meaning of sincerity and devotion will get the Modak.

To prove the true meaning of devotion, Lord Kartik immediately mounted on his Vahana, or vehicle, and started visiting all the spiritual places.

But Lord Ganesha went around Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and said that no amount of offerings or fasting or visiting sacred places is equal to the devotion of one’s father and mother.

Impressed by Lord Ganesha’s explanation of true meaning of sincerity and devotion, Goddess Parvati gave the Modak to Lord Ganesha.

This is believed to be the reason for Lord Ganesha’s love for Modak. Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav 25th to 29th August 2017 stay blessed Gurumaa BhriguShree www.bhrigushree.com

Honey Health Benefits by Gurumaa

Health Benefits by bhrigushree.com
A glass full of Luke warm water with a dash of lemon & a tablespoon of honey is ideal to start your day read on for immense benefits...
1. Helps prevent cancer and heart disease:
Honey contains flavonoids, antioxidants which help reduce the risk of some cancers and heart disease.
2. Reduces ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders:
Recent research shows that honey treatment may help disorders such as ulcers and bacterial gastroenteritis. This may be related to the 3rd benefit…
3. Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal:
“All honey is antibacterial, because the bees add an enzyme that makes hydrogen peroxide,” said Peter Molan, director of the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. This contributes to the incredibly long shelf-life of honey.
4. Increases athletic performance:
Ancient Olympic athletes ate honey and dried figs to enhance their performance. This has now been verified with modern studies, showing that it is superior in maintaining glycogen levels and improving recovery time than other sweeteners.
5. Reduces cough and throat irritation:
Honey helps with coughs, particularly buckwheat honey.

6. Balances the 5 elements:
Honey has been used in Ayurvedic medicine in India for at least 4,000 years and is considered to affect all three of the body’s primitive material imbalances positively. It is also said to be useful in improving eyesight, weight loss, curing impotence and premature ejaculation, urinary tract disorders, bronchial asthma, diarrhea and nausea.
Honey is referred as “Yogavahi” since it has a quality of penetrating the deepest tissues of the body. When honey is used with other herbal preparations, it enhances the medicinal qualities of those preparations and also helps them to reach the deeper tissues.
7. Helps regulate blood sugar:
Even though honey contains simple sugars, it is not the same as white sugar or artificial sweeteners. Its exact combination of fructose and glucose actually helps the body regulate blood sugar levels.
8. Heals wounds and burns:
External application of honey has been shown to be as effective as conventional treatment with silver sulfadiazene. It is speculated that the drying effect of the simple sugars and honey’s anti-bacterial nature combine to create this effect.
9. Is probiotic:
Some varieties of honey possess large amounts of friendly bacteria. This includes up to 6 species of lactobacilli and 4 species of bifidobacteria. This may explain many of the mysterious therapeutic properties of honey.
10. Helps improve skin:
Its anti-bacterial qualities are particularly useful for the skin, and, when used with the other ingredients, honey can also be moisturizing and nourishing.
